Just Me

I've been alive for more than 20 years. It's been more than two decades. Nothing's happened since I am alive. Nothing ever happens. I'm an outsider. I will forever be.

Even though my life's a bore since there are not enough explosions and not a bounch of naked ladies in it, I'm sure it would make a movie. I'm a hundred percent positive anyone's life could be interpreted like that. And thus, everybody would suddenly want to be my friend. And they'd genuinely and furiously love me, just like they love celebrities. Why do you think they love them so much? These people have complete audiovisual atmospheres attached to them, with wonderfully written stories and the trivial details edited out. You never see a movie starring Angelina Jolie who's waiting for the dentist or reading the newspaper or watching TV or something to that effect. (But I guess folks would buy it anyway. I would.)

There's the assumption that their superior life is not full of waiting for Godot while in fact it probably is. You love them because you feel their drama.It is easier to feel for them than for the person sitting next to you. Those people who are now walking right by me on the street would tomorrow come to me and hug me and say how much they love me. Wouldn't that be great.

But I'd still just be me.
